The National Restaurant Association Show in Chicago was interesting this year. The show boasted of having 2,200 exhibitors and more than 71,000 registered attendees, but the economy seemed to hit hard. McCain Foods, a frozen foods purveyor working in 110 countries, did not have an exhibit. Tyson Chicken didn’t sample anything, opting for pictures of chicken in their booth. Not very filling. Traffic seemed slow throughout the four-day event. The show was shortened from five days to four, but three days would be sufficient. That’s plenty of time for anyone wanting to do business to get it done.
